so much hate I read here instead of learning from both cultures and becoming one finally... seems the elitists still get their claws in to so many of you.

first... read about native history.
second... don't feel sorry for all of them... there are many that do indeed live off the system and yet for every single one that does do this... there are at least 20 immigrants and counting that do the same now... there are equal numbers in politicians to the natives it seems and yet the politicians steal closer to billions vs millions arguably paid back to the natives that are owed through the physical theft and intimidation forced upon them which included the treaty and reserve systems.

by the way... why do you feel you should pay taxes? communities could handle their own roads and hospitals. They can invest in different services and expand as necessary based on population and available resources. The government leeches insane amounts of money from the people primarily to pay back THEIR fiscal imbalances... not ours... they did not spend the money on our roads and hospitals... notice their budgets continue to fall. They spent the money on dinners, private jets, hotels, credit cards, limos, private security... example.. one Canadian politician was caught spending millions on a single flight to have it followed by f18 fighters because she feared a terrorist attack after 9 11. .... I mean really are you kidding me.

but you keep paying your taxes there and TRY to rip on those that shouldnt be.

From my perspective, the average voter casts ill informed votes for irrational reasons and follows political party's and such as if they were a sports team. That to me seems stupid.

Zero, the average voter is actually not stupid. Those who vote "usually" are informed as far as they wish to be regarding the issues. Many will vote party lines for various reasons, but they do have reasons. The stupidity lies with the common citizen who jumps band wagons joins in on riots for no better reason than because they dislike others doing better, or having more than themselves. Those stupid people rarely vote despite their promises to vote for politicians like Edgar.

No, when only 30% of the electorate chose to vote in municipal elections you know that most of the stupid ones are not voting regardless of their penchant for ranting thoughout the rest of the year.

They are the ones who get the government they deserve.
