Dive In
Windsor city council has approved a $77.6 million aquatic complex all the while people's basements continue to flood and some streets are in need of major repair. But this is good for Windsor as the mayor and his mouthpiece Chris Vander Doelen gloat about the exciting aspects this pool will bring. I have to laugh simply because many will fall for this sham, as they always do. Somehow, building an expensive pool will bring forth the masses to revitalize the city that is in need of some major fixing, both in the leaders and in the infrastructure.
...
This expensive pool comes at a cost of closing other facilities, mainly in the west end where it seems to be a forgotten waste land of derelict homes and agendas that further hurt the very people that live there. The only action going on in the west end is the building of a superhighway that as of now, will lead to no where. But hey, sacrifices had to be made I guess, so that swim meets can happen.
In a time when Windsor is hurting, the building of a pool seems like a logical thing to do, if you're an idiot that is. It's no wonder the first chance at casting spin on this ridiculousness happened in the Windsor Star today. You know something is bad when the paper needs to cheerlead and explain how this is affordable and how it will not cost as much as planned. That because the province pitched in $15 million, that it will cost the people of Windsor less. Huh? I guess Windsorites don't pay provincial taxes? Either way, you're still paying for this stupid idea, and it is stupid, or else someone from the private sector would have come in and built this long ago. Oh well, while people's basements flood and their rims are cracked while driving over broken roads, they should just go for a swim and thank Eddie for all he has done.
