Frog-O-Cruelty

A friend of mine recently posted a link on facebook that highlights the cruelty that business will stoop to in order to make money. Go here http://www.change.org/petitions/green-earth-canada-devonshire-mall-windsor-ontario-stop-selling-cruel-frog-o-sphere-kits to sign a petition to have Green Earth, located at Devonshire Mall in Windsor, Ontario, stop selling these frog-o-spheres. Not only are these things cruel, they do not fit the image that green earth supposedly is trying to pass off.

...

I am rather disgusted and will be boycotting Green Earth by not shopping there until they stop selling these frogs. Besides, since when is Green Earth a pet store? This isn't just happening here in the Windsor location, I have read that it is happening at others as well. But I will not only not be shopping there, I will be writing them and letting them know that what they are doing is wrong. I will also be writing the supplier as well, a company called Wild Creations, who can be reached here http://www.wildcreations.com/.

Wild Creations makes money off of the suffering of these frogs. The frogs are African dwarf frogs and they often die in these death tanks. I don't know a lot about amphibians but I do know a lot about reptiles, specifically turtles, and you don't need to be an expert to realize that stuffing these poor creatures in these tiny tanks is not a healthy and caring thing to do. Companies like Wild Creations and Green Earth do not care about these animals or the environment. I've seen this time and time again, and for some reason, I see it occuring at Devonshire mall mostly. Last Christmas, the newest trend was to sell hermit crabs in these tiny plastic tanks. When I was a kid, it was popular to sell these little plastic tubs that came with baby red eared slider turtles. These to are cruel, all of them. I get upset when I see beta fish sold in plastic drinking cups. Stuff like this can only end when you, the consumer makes that happen with your wallets by not buying these things. You can also help by letting these companies know how you feel. I'd like to start off the new year by doing something positive and hope to see some big changes.
