Guilty of being right

The recent tragedy that happened in Tucson Arizona should be a reminder to people that sometimes you need to take a step back and just see things for what they really are. People died and some were injured, this cannot be blamed on the left or the right because frankly, paradigms are irrelevant when it comes to human life. The whole idea that this is somehow Sarah Palin's fault or that the accused was a leftist loon are media talking points that have people asking the wrong questions, and instead of coming together as human beings, they are acting like children pointing fingers.

...

Reading posts on facebook from my own friends or the posts on Palin's page shows how deeply disturbed some people really are. So I have to ask, does it really even matter whether or not this guy had leanings to the right or to the left? I don't think so. To me it just seems some people cannot shake this whole left vs right notion and it permeates their very core to the point they post inane opinions on which book the accused read and why it pins him to the left or right. Fact is, mentally disturbed people believe in a lot of things and they really don't need a reason to do what they do, they just do it. Kind of like the people posting on facebook, they don't know why they are posting nonsense, they just do. So in the end, this did not occur because of the Tea Party or because of Sarah Palin, the Communist Manifesto or Mein Kamph, it happened because Jared Loughner is mentally unstable.

Cut to the core, you are entirely correct. Left and right don't play a part in the actions of those who are unstable. They don't kill for ideologies. They're not driven by policies.

It has certainly led to discussions on gun regulation and control
I would not like to live in a society that thinks it is okay for citizens to go about armed.
This tends to turn into a left/right issue
Words and slogans do have power.
They get into our brains. "
