...on the Liberal win in Toronto Centre.
Former Winnipeg mayor Glen Murray has won a provincial byelection for the Liberals in the Toronto Centre riding
You've got to be kidding. The liberals pull off another win in this province that enjoys being fleeced. I hope that Toronto Centre doesn't reflect the views of the rest of Ontario because if it does, then we shall be in for another McGuinty majority come election time next year.
Follow up:
"What a great night to be a McGuinty Liberal,"
Murray said after his victory.
Aha, what a great night indeed. Apparently, when you're part of Dalton's gang, you're copacetic. Such short memories we have. Toronto it seems, is just like Windsor in that they love their Liberals to the point that they elect the ones that have a poor record. We have Sandra "photo op" Pupatello and "Spanky" Dwight Duncan, Toronto now has "Cut and run" Glen Murray. What these three have in common is that they have not accomplished anything to write home about, much like the whole Ontario liberal party, so I guess it isn't actually a surprise after all.
Between the lies and the scandals, the liberals somehow always muster the votes and make daddy Dalton look good and it annoys the hell out of me. The opposition clearly needs to rethink their battle plan if they wish to take on the liberals in 2011. The PC's under Tim Hudak have failed to impress, most likely because under Hudak, the PC's are reminiscent of the Harris government and we all know how much Ontario hates Mike Harris. I would have thought that by now, that hatred would have been shifted to Dalton's liberals but it isn't so, not yet, possibly never, we shall see next year. All I know is that if this is any indication of 2011, then damn Ontario is dumb.

As you say, Hudac's PC's fail to impress. That's what's needed to swing a vote from the party that holds a seat. You saw it under Mulrooney Federally, and under Harris at the Provincial level. It can happen, but the voters have to be engaged.
Tim Hudac's problem is that he is essentially Mike Harris with a different name. He;s too close to the old guard and people remember, but it's odd because how quickly they also forget McGuinty's lies and all the scandals they seem to be involved in.
Hudac as Harris disciple? I think people forget also that Harris was elected twice and then left office (note to Eddie). It was only under Eaves that that the train came off the rails, but Harris gets the blame. Harris reincarnate would not be as bad as people think.
