Democracy of Hypocrisy
Ways with words and words with ways
Ways with words and words with ways
The Windsor Star seems unable to change. In what has become almost a daily ritual, stories will be printed that pertain to the blue collar workers, particularly those in union jobs and the woes that these workers face as the economy continues to tank. In a twist of irony, they also print stories misleading the people telling them that the economy in Windsor is turning around. What a slap in the face that is, I mean come on. Not only that, they have the nerve to print a story about the Toyota recall, but low and behold, commenting on that story is turned off. I find myself asking why that is but the answer is pretty clear. It doesn't involve union workers thus negating a chance for the Star to once again push their anti union vitriol through readers comments.
Follow up:
It is no conspiracy theory that the Windsor Star prides itself on being anti union. During this past summer's civil strike, the Star was a favourite place for many Windsorites to spew their hatred for unions and how it is the unions that have caused the economy to unravel. But it wasn't just the readers that took to the name calling, some of it's very own opinion writers took joy in casting unions and union workers in a not so becoming light. Face it, they have an agenda and they are, and will continue to follow lockstep. This latest dig, albeit a subtle one is just another example of the attack on unionized workers.
The Toyota recall story should be open to commenting, I mean it is one of the largest recalls in history, yet the anti union editors won't have any of that, lest the readers say something negative about a company that is non unionized.
