Yes he should as he has once again opened his big mouth and has called for a ban on Israeli academics from teaching in Ontario universities unless they openly renounce the current military operation occurring in the Gaza strip. Sources say that the Ontario division of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE)will be introducing the proposal at a meeting in the near future.

The ban will in effect prevent Israeli academics from speaking, teaching or doing research work at Ontario universities if they support Israel's military action. The proposal came after the Israeli attack on an Islamic university on December 29th which was said to have an affiliation with Hamas.

What happened at the university still is in question. Was it a place where arms are being stored? Anyone who compares Jews and Nazis really enters into the dark realm of anti-Semitism. Mr. Ryan should be absolutely ashamed of himself.

This wouldn't be the first time CUPE has gotten involved in the affairs of the Middle East. In 2006 it passed a resolution which supported the boycotting of Israeli goods.

Mr. Ryan should as they say, shut the fuck up! Seriously, do CUPE a favour and step down because it is clear that you have some issues with Israel and dare I say Jews in general. I, as a dues paying member of CUPE do not support what you are asking and hope that other members with a brain in their heads also disapprove. I am afraid that because I am a member of CUPE, that people will paint me with the same brush as you and think that unions in general are bigoted and hateful. Truth be told there are members amongst us that are, just as there are in the general population but we all know that when the union speaks, apparently they speak for us all. Well Sid, you damn well don't speak for me.

I do not agree with what is going on over there, I do not support either side, and I even support freedom of speech, but when someone in a position such as his decides to weigh in on an issue like this and say what he said, he is in fact attempting to take freedom of speech away from others.
