United States of Embarassment

I've said it time and time again that governments, specifically the United States and the Canadian variety do not condone peaceful protests. Take this latest example of Ray McGovern being forcefully removed and roughed up during a speech by Hillary Clinton. What is interesting in all of this is the fact that Clinton was opining about how people should be allowed to protest without fear of violence and arrest.

...

She also condemned those governments that arrest and beat protesters all the while watching as McGovern was "escorted" out of the building. If standing up in silence with your back towards a politician while wearing a T-shirt with a printed message on it doesn't constitute a peaceful protest, I have to ask, what does? We've seen how hypocritical governments are and this latests event goes to show that the right to peaceful protest is something they proclaim they believe in but in reality it couldn't be further from the truth.
