US Coast Guard in Canadian waters

The United States and Canada have struck a deal which would see the US Coast Guard operating in Canadian waters and the RCMP operating in the US waters should the need arise. Known as the shiprider program ( you know these things always need a cool name), these new rules are intended to improve the ever popular word SECURITY and to eliminate grey areas that both sides have faced in the past, such as either side having to stop at the border and call in the other country for help.

Follow up:

Shiprider has been an ongoing pilot program for the past few years to catch gun and drug smugglers and other criminals on joint waterways. Public Safety Minister Peter Van Loan and American Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano signed the agreement Tuesday at a cargo facility at the Ambassador Bridge, which connects Detroit and Windsor, Ontario. Van Loan said the agreement should not be looked upon as Americans encroaching on Canadian jurisdiction because it is a joint effort between the two countries. But what Van loan says and what is reality are 2 different things. He seems to think that security and trade between the 2 can be mutually beneficial. LOL, yeah right, since when? Free trade ring a bell, beneficial my ass!

As for Napolitano, the dumb broad likes to blame Canada for the terrorists entering the United States but apparently she fails to realize that people entering the States are screened on their turf, not Canadian. She said boosting security doesn't mean closing ourselves off from other countries -- it means working together as neighbors and allies. Really? because with the way things are going, pretty soon no one will be allowed to enter the United States, what with all your paranoia and such. You're doing a great job of isolating yourselves, bravo. But now you want to expand your fear propaganda to my country and Americanize us even more? Thanks but no thanks. Oh wait, I forgot to mention that Numpty Napolitano has clarified her statements about them entering through Canada, the terrorists responsible for the attacks did not enter the U.S. through Canada, however, she has maintained that other terror suspects have crossed south over the border. Ahh, thats better, pfft. Napolitano has a penchant for criticizing Canada for being too lax at the border, saying federal regulations did not go far enough.

Still, some are saying that Canadians shouldn't be worried about foreign officers policing Canadian waters. Are you fucking kidding me? Foreign officers policing CANADIAN waters, of course people should be alarmed because it is not their waters, it is ours. Anytime I see someone say you shouldn't worry about any foreign officers or what not policing Canadians, that my friend, is alarming. So should I practise my Star Spangled Banner, I mean pretty soon all of us are going to be singing it no?

I was wondering how they were going to set it up so that American enforcement agencies can make arrests in Canada. It was the final problem they had to solve for their inland preclearance shipping port scheme. This seems to be a perfect model for them.. tell people they are "working together" and it makes it all ok.
We are now one more step closer to the NAU in my opinion because of this. This unlocks a lot of doors for them to push the agenda forward.
